Day 6 Crete Greece

Walking around, though wasn't the best idea because of how much my legs were still hurting, was wonderful. I took a ton of pictures. I went to an archeological Museum, the Venetian Port, and the market or shopping center. The weather couldn't have cooperated any better, for this slow, looking-like-a-moron walking day. I wore my black skinny jeans and a tight white shirt with my red REI camel back on back and my SLR Nikon hanging from my neck. I was such a tourist today, to say the least.

I leave for Santorini tomorrow at 8:50am on a ferry. I am supposed to get there at 2:00pm and will be staying in another youth hostel called OIA. If you're wondering where that is, you can easily google and it should pop up. It's a popular hostel and one of the girls I met in Athens, in the last hostel I stayed at, was the one that recommended it. Trip Advisor had good reviews on it, too. I am confident the place will be good.

You can say that my stay in Crete was rather relaxing. Besides the shopping and a few museums I went to today, my time was mainly spent laying in my bed, eating cheetos, moaning about my beaten up legs to myself, and reading Eat Pray Love. How I disseminated my time and energy here I would say was done evenly well. I am proud of myself. (except I also did a shit load, massive load of walking even with a non-functionable legs, but walking is a must you're travelling. Sometimes, diverting from what makes sense is reasonably ok to do. Sometimes).

Crete is one of the largest islands in Greece (out of all 2000 of them). The area I am in, Iraklio, has some really cool museums. I am having so much fun learning. There's so much about Crete, especially in the past and the different civilizations that reside in it. It amazes me. All those random stuff I learned in archeology in college are all coming back. I remember the Neolithic period, the way archeologists date objects, the tools people used around 350 BC, the pots, the arts, the knives, the Gods/Goddess, and so much more that is blowing my mind. All I want to do is read about ancient Greece and Greek mythology. I vote staying in and reading in my bed all day, any day now.

Philosophy has always been an interest of mine. Is it coincidental that I am currently in Greece, the birth of philosophy. Aristotle, Plato, Socrates -- all famous philosophers, all of whom I used to read about and love reading about. There's a reason why my philosophy books from college are in my book case at home right now. I can't wait to crack them open again.

Gosh! I love traveling. I love traveling to different countries. I love meeting all walks of life. I love having a braveheart, an open soul, and an adventerous mind. I wouldn't be where I am, feeling the undescribable at this moment, if it werent for who and how I am.

I love life so hard.
