Day 4 Athtens, Greece

1. Woke up early enough to go to the marathon course tour. I actually got up this time. 20 Euro. Lame.
2. On my way to the museum, at 8:30am, I almost got ran over. Literally. It was so close. And I was so lucky. The Greek driver who looked like a dad came out his car and started yelling at me. I was scared shitless. I couldn't say anything but sorry. Everyone was looking at me. "I was so stupid for not paying attention and that I can't do that in Greece," I kept telling myself. I was really lucky that I didn't get hit.
3. He let me go eventually after yelling and pointing and blah, blah, blah. What do I do about it: I just went ahead and started my day, thinking, "Oh, life. You wouldn't be as interesting if things were always orderly. Thank you. "
4. The marathon tour was a joke. I was asleep the entire time.
5. I went back to the museum after the tour and bought marathon race souvenirs. I like the stuff I got.
6. I also went back to Syntagma Square and did more shopping.
7. By 3:00pm, I was back to my dorm. And I am very happy about this.
8. Showered and took a nap. Woke up 2 hours later feeling rejuvenated.
9. Dinner with French lady around 6:00pm. Another Australian chick joined us and we all chatted about life, traveling, and relationships and other random stuff. I felt like a dumb ass not knowing the American political system. The French lady knew so much more. Oh, and it turns she used to work for a law firm for 10 years and went to school in Berkley. She's seriously amazing. (I am in my bed typing this and she just gave me a bunch of stuff from France just right now. Tomorrow she will leave me a France t-shirt. Apparently when she travels, she likes to exchange t-shirts or give France t-shirts away. For kicks).
10. It's now 9:30pm and I am getting ready for bed. I have to wake up at 6:00am tomorrow. The race is at 9:00am. It starts in Marathon and will end up in Athens.
11. I plan on praying tonight.
12. Good night and I love you.
13. Oh, oh, and, and....I received flowers today. The note on the flowers said something, "...finish strong." To my flower giver: You melted me, along with my heart the instant I saw them. Thank you. I will be running tomorrow thinking of you and how wonderful you made me feel. I am simply lucky and you are wonderful. I named the stuffed animal Captain Mighty. He and I will be snuggling tonight.
14. Last but not the least: I just bought my one-way 7-hour Crete ferry ticket and booked a two-day hotel there. I leave at 10:00pm tomorrow. =)

Day 3 Athens, Greece

1. I slept in all day. I didn't get up until 3:00pm. I didn't care. I missed the plan to go on a day tour of the marathon course. Again, I didn't care. My well being was more important to me.
2. I liked getting up feeling well rested.
3. Women were in and out of my dorm while I was eating the day off sleeping. Every day there are a ton leaving and coming in. In fact, I am the only who have stayed the longest.
4. I was bummed when the British and Australian girls left. They were my favorite and the cutest and the ones that swore the most when we were talking. Right from the get go, I got along with them. And they were the two girls I first met going into my room.
5. I walked to the museum to pick up my packet around 5:00pm. The museum itself was my favorite, of all museum I've visited. It had statues of Platos, Socrates, Aristotle, Athina, history of the marathon, etc., ect.
6. I roamed around Syntagma Square after. This is a main shopping place.
7. I walked home and took pictures.
8. I got to my room and I met a new lady I like. She's from France, in her 40s, and a photographer. I admire her for that.
9. I tried going to bed at 10:30pm. That didn't work. There was so much traffic going on in my room. People were seriously coming in and out. There were random noises everywhere I don't even think I slept. I swear.
10. So around 1:00am I picked up Eat, Pray, and Love and read until India. Yay. I am now in India.
11. Around 3:00am, right when I put my book down, two girls walked into the room clearly shit faced. "Sweet," I told myself. That was me last night. No worries. Live life, ladies. Except one girl was puking all night long; hence why I didn't sleep.

Day 2 Athens, Greece

Day 2 Athens, Greece

Wow. Exhausting day.

I almost didn't want to get up at 9:30 this morning. I missed the free breakfast. Most of the girls were up or gone already when I woke up, but two were still in their beds. I contemplated for 5 minutes before I woke my ass up. My thought process: I am in charge of my life here. If I don't get up I will miss a day of opportunity to get to know Athens. Alright, I have to get up.

Today's plan was the day trip to Acropolis with a tour guy. When I got down to the lobby and saw the people going, immediately I woke up, feeling very happy with my decision.

The tour group composed of backpackers from all over the place. I heard Brazil, Denmark, England, Sweden, Argentina, New York, Colorado, Ireland, Mexico when everyone introduced themselves. I liked Athens so much that morning.
