Day 2: Athens, Greece

It's past midnight. I am wide awake. I didn't get to go to the bars/happy hour earlier. After I showered and got dressed to head out, I instead passed out till 10:00pm. I didn't regret one bit for unconsciously sleeping.

Though I did wake up sort of feeling bad, because I had told one of the girls in my "dorm" that I would go grocery shopping with her and cook in the kitchen area dinner around 8:00pm tonight.

So, I am staying in a 6-bed, all-female dorm. There are 5 other girls staying here right now. All of which are travelling alone, from all over the world, and around my age. Two of them have the British accent. One is from Australia who has been travelling for 7-months. (Super hot status, by the way).

In essence, this is how I feel: Whoa! You have no idea how excited I was when I met my roomates. I feel like in college but better because I am in Greece and much more mature, responsible and in control! Still crazy adventurous, nevertheless. I would say, of all random and crazy things I get myself into, this is one of the best I've ever chosen to do for myself. I feel so enlightened, and it's only my first day.

The place I am staying at is the central place for shopping and dinning out. It's right next to the metra station. There are lots of solo travellers/backpackers. It's just, well, fantastic!

I walked around to get dinner after waking up. It was dark out but people were out and the restaurants were still open. Since the streets are narrow and it turns in different directions, of course, I got lost for a bit when I wondered around. I wasn't surprised. I just kind of laughed at myself, actually. Around 11:30, I got back to my dorm.

I didn't have a plan for myself getting here. With 6 hours of being here, I finally assembled the skeleton to my entire trip. Thus far, this is how it will look like:

Thus far -- I love it. Everything about it: from my 8-hour flight to London, UK, to transfering for another 3-hour flight to Athens, Greece, and then taking an hour bus ride to take yet another 10-min metra to my hostel, and walking it here finally, to my final destination.

People here have been friendly. Yes! And some of the ones I've met were really attractive. Tripple yes! I do appreciate the pretty faces....

It's 6:00pm. I have unloaded my belongings. And there's a happy hour on the roof top bar in this hostel I am staying at. Obviously, I am about to freshen up, and enjoy some life. =)
